Mandy Patinkin being written out of CBS Criminal Minds season premiere
Looks like Mandy Patinkin has decided to throw a hissy fit by not showing up on the set of Criminal Minds this week. Patinkin, who is apparently peeved that he didn’t get a sizable salary bump for the new season, didn’t show up for the table read, which is the initial runthrough of the script.
The season premiere of Criminal Minds didn’t have a lot of scenes with Patinkin, feuling rumors he didn’t show up because the show was possibly planning to have him exit the season early…. but when you don’t show up on the set, it is pretty much a forgone conclusion you will definitely be asked to leave the season early.
Sheesh, when will actors learn you can’t play hardball if you expect to keep your job… remember Suzanne Sommers?

Apparently (according to an article in a magazine I read)…Mandy Patikin did not leave because he didn’t get enough of a salary boost! He apparently left because a hair stylist he started to like was cut for financial reasons. Mandy, told them that he wouldn’t continue on the show unless they hired her back as his personal hair stylist. When they went to bring her back, she demanded a large salary increase and the producers/bosses told her to just keep on walking! So Mandy said he is sticking with his ethics on ths one and will not come back unless she is rehired. this is what I read…I’m just trying to make sure that an actor so beloved by myself is not being mocked over reasons of possibly false financial accusations. Just reportin’ what I heard.
